Chaga best practices

When taking Chaga mushroom extract, it’s usually safe to consume anywhere from 100mg – 3,000mg per day. The best results generally come between 1,000mg – 1,500mg per day. 

Recommended daily dose:

The daily recommended dosage is 3 capsules, after a meal. Chaga can be used daily.

Yes, Chaga is an edible and medicinal mushroom that is fully legal for use and trade.

 

Does Chaga impact the kidneys?

Chaga can impact the kidneys due to the oxalates found in the Chaga mushroom. Oxalates reduce the absorption of nutrients and therefore induce kidney stones. Please consult your physician before undertaking any medicinal mushroom protocol.

 

When is the best time to supplement with Chaga?

Chaga is an adaptogen, meaning it reduces what you might have an excess of OR gives you access to what you might be lacking. Chaga is therefore great in the morning as a caffeine replacement and also great at night as a soothing evening tea.

What are herb drug interactions with chaga?

Antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs: Chaga extract inhibited platelet aggregation in a murine model (source). It may also have synergistic effects when used with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs, but clinical relevance is not known.

Hypoglycemic agents: In vitro, chaga had additive effects in lowering blood sugar levels (source). Clinical significance is yet unknown.
