About this article Human Pro sells the products mentioned in this article, so this is not an independent review. Our editorial policy explains how we work.

To use the Lion's Mane oral spray, spray one serving of up to 3 sprays into your mouth, with no water needed. One serving gives 333 mg Lion's Mane fruiting body extract and 11 mg cinnamon extract, and the Lion's Mane oral spray label allows up to 3 servings a day. Human Pro makes the spray with Lion's Mane grown on our farm in Flevoland, the Netherlands.

This guide follows the label of our Lion's Mane oral spray step by step. Then it sets one spray serving next to one serving of our Lion's Mane capsules.

What is in one serving of the Lion's Mane oral spray?

Each serving of our Lion's Mane oral spray, up to 3 sprays, holds 333 mg Lion's Mane fruiting body extract and 11 mg cinnamon extract. A mushroom oral spray is a liquid that you spray straight into your mouth. So its label counts a serving in sprays, not in capsules or drops.

The Lion's Mane in the spray is a whole-mushroom extract made from the fruiting body. We grow that Lion's Mane on our farm in Flevoland, where substrate, growing, harvest and extraction happen on one site, by one team. The farm page shows how the farm works.

A 30 ml bottle holds 90 servings. The full ingredient list is on the label. EU law requires every food supplement label to state the portion for daily use and a warning not to exceed it.

No health claim has been authorised in the EU or in Great Britain for Lion's Mane, so we don't make one. This page explains how we grow, extract and test it.

How many servings of the Lion's Mane oral spray can you use per day?

The Lion's Mane oral spray label allows up to 3 servings a day, and each serving is up to 3 sprays. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. At the label maximum, that is up to 9 sprays a day, with 999 mg Lion's Mane fruiting body extract in total.

Servings a day Sprays Lion's Mane fruiting body extract Cinnamon extract
1 up to 3 333 mg 11 mg
2 up to 6 666 mg 22 mg
3, the label maximum up to 9 999 mg 33 mg

The table multiplies the label figures and adds nothing to them. The label on your bottle, not this page, is the reference.

Use the spray as the directions on your bottle say.

How do you use the Lion's Mane oral spray, step by step?

The Lion's Mane oral spray is used one serving at a time: up to 3 sprays into your mouth, with no water or other drink. The steps below follow the label in order, from reading the warnings before the first use to closing the bottle afterwards.

  1. Read the directions and warnings on the bottle label before the first use.
  2. Spray one serving, up to 3 sprays (333 mg Lion's Mane fruiting body extract), into your mouth. No water is needed.
  3. Use no more than 3 servings a day, which is up to 9 sprays.
  4. Close the bottle and store it as the label says.

Count the sprays in each serving, so you stay within the label amount. The spray is used on its own, straight from the bottle.

This list follows the label facts we publish for the serving and the daily limit. Where the printed label on your bottle gives more detail, the printed label wins.

How does the Lion's Mane oral spray differ from capsules?

The Lion's Mane oral spray and our Lion's Mane capsules differ in form and in the size of one serving. One spray serving is up to 3 sprays with 333 mg extract and no water. One capsule serving is 3 capsules with 1,260 mg extract, taken with a glass of water, as our capsule product page says.

Both formats hold Lion's Mane fruiting body extract from our farm. The amounts differ because the two labels set different servings. Read them as label figures, not as a ranking of the formats.

The spray is not a tincture either. A tincture is measured with a dropper, while our spray is measured in sprays.

How long does one bottle last, and how should you store it?

One 30 ml bottle of the Lion's Mane oral spray holds 90 servings, so it lasts 30 days at the label maximum of 3 servings a day. At one serving a day, the same bottle lasts 90 days. The table below shows each step of the arithmetic from the label.

Servings a day Days per 30 ml bottle
1 90 (90 ÷ 1)
2 45 (90 ÷ 2)
3, the label maximum 30 (90 ÷ 3)

Store the spray in a cool, dry and dark place at room temperature, 15 to 25 °C, and keep the bottle closed. That is the same storage line as on our capsule packs.

The best-before date is printed on the pack, next to the LOT number. EU food information rules list a date of minimum durability among the particulars a prepacked food must carry.

How can you check what is in your bottle?

You can check what is in your Lion's Mane oral spray by matching the LOT number on the pack to its certificate. The LOT sits next to the best-before date. We publish a certificate for every batch, with the method and the laboratory next to each result, and we leave earlier batches online.

Every batch extracted on our farm is tested before release by the farm's QC laboratory, Fungal Development Europe. Eurofins analysed our Lion's Mane extract in May 2024 (report AR-24-HE-153105-01).

Spray lot RM-894258 uses certificate COA-LM-894258-01, the certificate of Lion's Mane extract batch 894258. The values in the table are for that dried extract, not for the finished spray.

What should you check before you start?

Before you start with the Lion's Mane oral spray, read the label on your bottle, including the do-not-exceed line and the warnings. Then read the next section. It says who should not use Lion's Mane and when to ask first.

Look at the pack itself too. The LOT number and the best-before date sit next to each other, and the LOT lets you open the certificate for your bottle before the first serving. Keep the pack until the bottle is empty, so you can still look up the certificate.

If the label on your bottle differs from this page, follow the label. The label is what applies to the bottle in your hand, and we update this page when a label changes.

Who should not use Lion's Mane, and when to ask a doctor

  1. Do not use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
  2. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose of 3 servings of up to 3 sprays for the Lion's Mane oral spray, or 3 capsules (1,260 mg) for Lion's Mane capsules.
  3. Do you take medication? Ask your doctor or pharmacist before you start.
  4. Stop using it and contact your doctor if you feel unwell while taking it.
  5. A food supplement is not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
  6. Keep out of the reach of young children.
