6 Ways to Consume Mushroom Supplements

6 ways to consume

Believe it or not, I didn’t eat mushrooms of any kind until I was in my early twenties. The squishy texture of regular button mushrooms was more than I was prepared to handle.

Funny how life turns out sometimes, right?

Today, I eat mushrooms at every available opportunity. Not only do I have a new fungal preference that was only made available to me in adulthood but I also prefer to not swallow several capsules to supplement my well-being.

So, my solution? Source high-quality dually extracted functional mushroom powders and add it to my food just like any other ingredient.

Fungi are masters of all trades and can do anything. Despite their pleasantly earthy flavors, functional mushroom powders can be added to all categories of food.

Check it out!

  • Smoothie Power-Up

Elevate your morning or post-workout smoothies by adding a scoop of powdered Cordyceps mushroom extract.

The classic morning smoothie has evolved from the cup and straw to bowl and spoon. Smoothie bowls are typically loaded with fruits in various presentations.

Fruits and mushrooms are not often paired but I can say that this Cordyceps smoothie bowl recipe just might change your mind!

  • Coffee and Tea Companion

If I’m sitting at my desk writing you can bet I have a hot beverage inches away from my fingertips. Ready, hot, delicious.

Also, I eventually figured out that more than 3 coffees a day was just not a good idea.

So yes, mushies to the rescue! Functional mushroom extract powders are SO delicious!

Just a little creativity, some spices, and your favorite mug and you will be thrilled with your newly found caffeine alternative.

Let’s go through the pros and cons real quick.

Pro’s:

Dark, rich, creamy, delicious.

Con’s of coffee

Jitters, dehydration, overstressed adrenals, poor sleep quality.

So here’s what you can do, use some of our Mushroom Essentials Complex and make yourself the best mushie tea or coffee ever!

  • Baking with Benefits

If carbs are your kryptonite of choice, then perhaps reduce any guilt by adding a nutritional punch to your baked goods.

This article concluded that: Mushroom-supplemented bread has a place in the market as a functional, novel bread product, by delivering more dietary fiber, high-quality protein, and other bioactive components to consumers. Further research on the nutritional properties of these final bread products should be carried out in the future.

Functional mushroom powders can easily be incorporated into recipes for bread, muffins, cookies, and even pancakes.

Imagine enjoying a chocolate chip cookie with the added cognitive and immune support from Lion’s Mane!

Or you can make your family a delicious loaf of mushroom bread. This fermented bread has a crunchy exterior and chewy interior while preserving the delicious mushroom flavor.

Please try it and let me know how it turns out!

  • Savory Soups and Sauces

Mushrooms’ earthy ways make it seem more appropriate for savory dishes like soups, stews, and sauces.

Adding a teaspoon of mushroom extract to a tomato sauce or a hearty vegetable soup can boost its health benefits without compromising on taste.

You can even make yourself a taco seasoning….yes, tacos.

This culinary school elaborated on it quite a bit on all possible combinations here.

Whether it’s a comforting bowl of soup in winter or a zesty pasta sauce, the versatility of mushroom powders never ceases to amaze me.

  • Healthy Homemade Snacks

One of my favorite ways of consuming my functional mushrooms is by creating my own homemade high-protein snacks.

From energy bars, granola, or trail mix I am always adding mushie powder to everything.

  • Swallow Capsules

The obvious does need to be pointed out every once in a while, and one of the ways to consume functional mushrooms is to swallow the capsules they came in.

This technique is totally legit (obviously) and loved by many.

Swallowing capsules allows us to ensure dosage is consistent, without flavor or aftertaste being an issue.

To implement any of the above recipes, you can use any of these specific functional mushrooms such as Lion’s Mane, Chaga, Reishi, or Cordyceps. Alternatively, our Mushrooms Essentials Complex blend combines all four equally and conveniently.

Did you make any of the recipes I suggested?

Tell me about it in the comments below or post your photos and let me know about it in our Facebook group or our Discord channel.

As always

Shine bright. Do good. Flow strong
