Cooking with Functional Mushrooms

Granola

If you’re anything like me, you probably don’t enjoy swallowing a bunch of capsules every day. Luckily, functional mushroom extracts are much more delicious than you might expect. I was personally very pleasantly surprised when I found out and soon started creating some of my own recipes.

Check out all the ways that I eat my functional mushroom extracts. I bet at least one of these will become a household favourite. You can thank me later. x

From Supplement to Superstar: Mushrooms in Your Meals

The Morning Mushroom Cuppa

Start your day with a mushroom-powered punch. Instead of your usual coffee, try a mushroom latte. Mix your favourite functional mushroom powder with some plant-based milk, a touch of honey or maple syrup, and a pinch of cinnamon and some vanilla. Blend it up, and you’ve got a creamy, energising drink that’s as delicious as it is nutritious.

Soup Up Your Soup

Next time you’re simmering a pot of soup, why not add some mushroom magic? Reishi and Chaga work particularly well in broths, adding a rich, earthy flavour along with their potential health benefits. Pro tip: Simmer these tough mushrooms in your broth for a few hours to extract maximum goodness.

Home Made Granola

If you’re already one of those next-level kitchen ninjas, and making your own granola at home. Firstly I commend you for your skills, secondly, I encourage you to add some of our Mushroom Essentials Complex to the mix. YUM!

Overnight Chia Pots

If you are not a kitchen warrior as stated above, then just grab some milk, or coconut milk, stir in some chia seeds, open up a few capsules of our Mushroom Essentials Complex, a touch of maple syrup and let soak overnight. In the morning add some fruits like banana, passion fruit or whatever rings your bell to the mix. You might want to make 2 of these, one to share or you might just have a second one coz you can and it’s so delicious.

The Sneaky Smoothie Addition

Adding mushroom powders to your morning smoothie is an easy way to incorporate them into your diet. Lion’s Mane pairs well with banana and cacao, while Cordyceps can give your pre-workout green smoothie an extra kick.

Mushroom Chocolate, Anyone?

For the adventurous foodies, try making your own mushroom-infused chocolate. Reishi, with its slightly bitter taste, pairs wonderfully with dark chocolate. Melt some high-quality dark chocolate, mix in some Reishi powder, and let it set. It’s a treat for both your taste buds and your body.

Home Made Banana Ice Cream – OMG!

Recently I tried something new, I blended a frozen banana, some Greek yoghurt (sourced locally from a small dairy farm), some chia seeds and a few capsules of our Mushroom Essentials Complex. Once blended, put it back in the freezer for an hour and then the heavens broke loose with the most delicious and guilt-free snack ever created in the history of humanity. Of course, I’m exaggerating but seriously, try it for yourself.

The Joy of Mushroom Exploration

Incorporating functional mushrooms into your diet isn’t just about the potential health benefits. It’s delicious, period.

Remember, don’t be afraid to experiment, mix and match, and find combinations that work for you.

Stock up on some Mushroom Essentials Complex, our unique blend of dually extracted Lion’s Mane, Chaga, Cordyceps and Reishi.
