Ashwagandha KSM-66 and Reishi: what is in this collection?

This collection brings together two products that customers usually take in the evening: Ashwagandha KSM-66 and Red Reishi. One is a root extract, the other a mushroom extract, and both are made from a single, clearly identified raw material with nothing added.

What is Ashwagandha KSM-66?

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is a plant from Ayurvedic tradition; KSM-66 is a branded extract made from the root only, without leaves, and standardised to 5% withanolides. Our capsules contain 300 mg each, and a serving is two capsules (600 mg) with a meal.

Root-only matters because many cheaper ashwagandha extracts include leaves, which have a different composition. KSM-66 is also one of the most studied ashwagandha extracts, and its standardisation means every capsule contains a consistent amount of withanolides.

What is Red Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum)?

Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) is a functional mushroom with a long history in traditional Asian culture. Ours is grown on our own farm in the Netherlands, harvested as whole fruiting bodies and made into a 20:1 whole-mushroom extract with our Kanzen method - water and alcohol, never above 38 °C. A serving is three capsules of 420 mg, and the suggested use on the label is in the evening.

Like all our mushrooms, Reishi is used as the fruiting body only, never as mycelium grown on grain. The dual extraction matters especially for Reishi, because its triterpenes dissolve in alcohol rather than in water.

How are our Ashwagandha and Reishi tested?

Both are tested before release. The Ashwagandha is checked for its withanolide content and screened for heavy metals; the Reishi is tested for beta-glucans and triterpenes and screened for heavy metals against Regulation (EU) 2023/915. The certificates are published on our test results page.

Can I take Ashwagandha and Reishi together?

Yes, the two can be taken side by side; keep to the recommended serving of each. Do not exceed the recommended daily amount, and consult a healthcare professional before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or take medication - especially with Ashwagandha, which is not suitable for everyone. Both are food supplements and not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet. Both are also vegan and gluten-free.

Which pack size of Ashwagandha or Reishi should I choose?

Both products come as 1, 2 or 3-packs, with a subscription option. One Reishi pouch of 90 capsules lasts 30 days at three capsules a day. If you would like Reishi together with the other three mushrooms, the Mushroom Essentials Complex and the 4 Mushrooms Bundle contain it as well.

How long does a pack of Ashwagandha or Reishi last?

One Reishi pouch holds 90 capsules: 30 days at three capsules a day. Ashwagandha KSM-66 is taken as two capsules a day with a meal. Both work best as part of a fixed routine, taken at the same moment each day. Store them closed, in a cool and dry place away from sunlight and out of reach of young children, and check the best-before date printed on the pack.
