In my own words
Dear beautiful beings,
I studied medicine at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. Medical school taught me how the body works and what happens when it breaks down. What it taught me less about is everything that happens before that point: the years of short nights, skipped meals, stress we carry without noticing, and grief we never quite make room for.
In my practice I see it every day. People come in with a question about how they look, and very often the real story is about how they live. You can see a hard year in someone's face before they say a word about it. That is where my curiosity started, and it has never really stopped.
So I kept learning. I trained as a yoga teacher (200 hours), with Yoga Nidra and sound as the practices I keep coming back to. I also kept studying nutrition and daily rhythm, because I wanted to understand far better how small habits shape health over the years.
What all of this taught me is simple, though not always easy. Health is not one thing you fix. It is small, daily and very personal: what you eat, how you move, how you sleep, who you spend time with, and whether your mind ever gets a moment to rest.
There is a lot of information about health online, and not all of it is careful. I believe you deserve to know exactly what you are reading: what is known, what is not known yet, and where a claim comes from. That is why I fact-check Human Pro's articles. I make sure the facts are right, that the sources say what the article says they say, and that nothing promises more than it should.
What I don't do is tell you what to take. Your body, your history and your situation are your own. If you have a health condition, are pregnant or use medication, please talk to your own doctor or pharmacist first. That is the best advice I can give anyone.
With love,
Aletta

What Aletta checks
Before an article or guide goes live, Aletta reads it in full. She checks:
- that every fact, number and unit is correct;
- that each source says what the article says it does;
- that nothing in the text promises more than the evidence allows;
- that safety information, such as who should not use a product and when to talk to a doctor, is clear and complete.
If she finds an error, we correct it before the article goes live. An article she has checked shows the line "Fact-checked by Aletta de Wit" with the date of her check. Read more about how we write and check our content in our editorial policy.
